Apple has officially rolled out iOS 18.0.1, the first minor update to iOS 18, which addresses several critical bugs and introduces important security patches. This update, which also extends to iPadOS 18.0.1, focuses on fixing issues that users encountered after upgrading to iOS 18, including problems with the iPhone 16 models and other devices.
One of the primary fixes in iOS 18.0.1 is related to a bug affecting the microphone on the iPhone 16 series. Previously, the microphone could capture audio in the Messages app before users were alerted by the green microphone indicator on the Dynamic Island or Control Center. This posed a privacy concern, as audio was being recorded without the user’s awareness.
