Vvolt Unveils First Electric Bike with Automatic Transmission and Carbon Belt

Vvolt, a U.S.-based electric bike manufacturer, recently launched its first electric bike featuring an automatic transmission—the Centauri II. This new model is designed for urban commuting and features a mid-drive motor along with a carbon belt system instead of a traditional chain, ensuring a smoother and more durable ride.

The Centauri II’s standout feature is its mechanical auto-shift hub, which automatically adjusts between three gears, making gear transitions seamless as the rider accelerates or decelerates. This innovative system requires no battery, reducing maintenance needs significantly. In addition to the auto-shifting transmission, the bike includes a Gates Carbon Drive CDX belt for a quieter, low-maintenance experience, and the bike’s short-travel monoshock front suspension adds to ride comfort.

With a motor providing up to 28 mph speeds and a battery offering 20-60 miles of range, the Centauri II is ideal for city riders. The model also includes advanced features like Shimano hydraulic brakes and integrated lighting for all-around visibility, enhancing both safety and performance(Outdoor Sportswire)(Chris Crossed – Ebike Rides & Reviews).
